Expert Sessions Terms

1. About Kina Expert Sessions

Kina provides members with access to Experts across a variety of areas that may include parenting, family, wellness, nutrition, financial wellness, education, home and lifestyle, and other topics.

Expert Sessions are intended to provide convenient access to guidance and help you better understand your questions, options, and potential next steps.

The scope of a particular Expert Session may vary based on the Expert’s qualifications, credentials, professional judgment, and the information you provide.

2. Experts Are Independent

Experts are independent third parties and are not employees, agents, or representatives of Kina.

Kina may evaluate Experts based on factors such as experience, qualifications, credentials, references, areas of expertise, or other criteria. However, Kina does not direct, supervise, or control an Expert’s independent professional judgment.

Where an Expert is a licensed or credentialed professional, the Expert is independently responsible for complying with the laws, professional standards, licensing requirements, ethical obligations, and scope-of-practice requirements applicable to that Expert.

Any professional relationship that may arise between you and an Expert is between you and that Expert, not Kina.

3. Scope and Limitations of Expert Sessions

Expert Sessions are generally designed to provide focused guidance during a limited-duration consultation. They are not intended to replace ongoing professional care or services when those services are appropriate.

An Expert may determine that your question or situation cannot appropriately be addressed within an Expert Session and may recommend that you seek additional, specialized, ongoing, or in-person assistance.

Kina does not guarantee that an Expert will be able to answer every question, resolve a particular issue, recommend a particular course of action, or produce any specific result or outcome.

The specific scope, limitations, and disclosures applicable to a particular Expert Session may be presented to you when you book the session.

4. Medical and Emergency Situations

Kina Expert Sessions are not an emergency service.

If you believe that you or another person may be experiencing a medical, mental health, or other emergency, do not use Kina or an Expert Session as a substitute for emergency assistance. Contact 911 or the appropriate emergency service in your location.

Certain Experts available through Kina may be licensed healthcare or mental health professionals. Any healthcare or mental health services provided by such an Expert are provided independently by the Expert and are subject to the Expert’s professional judgment, applicable law, and any additional consents or disclosures required for the service.

An Expert Session does not automatically establish an ongoing treatment or care relationship with an Expert.

5. Information You Provide

You are responsible for providing information that is accurate and reasonably necessary for the Expert to understand the question or issue you would like to discuss.

Depending on the nature of the session, you may choose to provide information about yourself, your family, or your child. Please provide only information reasonably necessary for the Expert Session.

Information you provide directly to an Expert may be subject to the Expert’s own confidentiality, privacy, professional, and recordkeeping obligations.

Kina does not require Experts to provide Kina with their professional or clinical notes or records from your Expert Session.

Kina’s collection, use, disclosure, and protection of Personal Information is described in the Kina Privacy Policy.

6. Kina Concierge and Follow-Up Assistance

An Expert may identify additional types of assistance, services, or providers that could be helpful based on your discussion.

With your authorization, the Expert may facilitate a handoff to Kina Concierge by sharing limited information about the type of assistance you are seeking. You may also request assistance from Kina Concierge directly.

Kina Concierge may help research potential providers, products, or services; identify options; facilitate introductions; and assist with coordination or scheduling.

Kina Concierge is a service provided by Kina and is separate from the Expert. Kina Concierge does not provide medical, mental health, legal, investment, tax, insurance, or other regulated professional advice.

7. Third-Party Providers and Follow-On Services

Following an Expert Session, you may choose to continue working directly with the Expert or use another third-party provider.

Any services you purchase or receive outside the Expert Session are separate from the Kina Expert Session and may be subject to separate fees, terms, privacy policies, consents, or agreements between you and the applicable Expert or Third-Party Provider.

Kina may introduce or connect you with Third-Party Providers through Kina Concierge. Kina does not guarantee the availability, suitability, quality, results, or outcomes of services independently provided by an Expert or Third-Party Provider.

Kina may receive compensation from certain Third-Party Providers or partners in connection with eligible referrals, introductions, bookings, purchases, or services, where permitted by applicable law.

8. Scheduling, Cancellations, and Participation

Expert Sessions are subject to Expert availability.

You agree to attend scheduled Expert Sessions on time and to follow any booking, cancellation, rescheduling, or attendance requirements presented to you at the time of booking.

Kina may establish or modify reasonable scheduling, cancellation, no-show, rescheduling, or usage policies for Expert Sessions and may limit access to Expert Sessions in cases of repeated cancellations, no-shows, misuse, or other inappropriate conduct.

9. Member Conduct

You agree to interact with Experts respectfully and not to engage in abusive, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, fraudulent, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate conduct.

Kina may suspend or terminate access to Expert Sessions if we reasonably believe a member has violated these Expert Session Terms, the Kina Terms of Use, or applicable law, or has engaged in conduct that threatens the safety or integrity of an Expert, another member, or the Platform.

10. No Guaranteed Outcome

Expert guidance necessarily depends on the circumstances, information available, and the Expert’s independent judgment.

Neither Kina nor any Expert guarantees any particular result, outcome, diagnosis, recommendation, provider match, financial result, educational result, health outcome, or other result from an Expert Session.

You remain responsible for deciding whether and how to act on information or guidance you receive and whether to obtain additional professional advice or services.

11. Additional Terms for Particular Expert Sessions

Certain Expert Sessions may require additional disclosures, acknowledgments, consents, or terms based on the Expert’s profession, credentials, subject matter, or applicable law.

Before booking or participating in a particular Expert Session, you may be asked to review and accept an “About This Session” acknowledgment or other additional terms.

If an Expert is required by law or professional standards to obtain a separate consent or agreement from you, including consent relating to telehealth or professional services, that consent or agreement will be separate from these Expert Session Terms.

12. Relationship to Other Kina Terms

These Expert Session Terms supplement the Kina Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

If there is a conflict between these Expert Session Terms and the Kina Terms of Use regarding your participation in an Expert Session, these Expert Session Terms will control with respect to the Expert Session.

Any additional terms or disclosures presented for a particular Expert Session will apply to that session.

13. Changes to These Terms

Kina may update these Expert Session Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.

Your continued booking or participation in Expert Sessions after updated Expert Session Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
